‘We must sound the alarm’: Austrian Colonel speaks about the overestimated successes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the southern front

The successes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) during the offensive in the south are underestimated, and the situation could soon tilt in favor of the Russian Federation.

This was stated by Colonel of the Austrian Armed Forces and military expert Markus Reisner in an interview with Deutsche Presse-Agentur.

“Individual Russian defense lines are being breached with significant losses, but there has not been a real breakthrough so far. We must be alarmed that after 117 days of counteroffensive, there has still been no operational breakthrough,” Reisner said.

In his opinion, Ukraine is not receiving enough military equipment, including that which would help defend against Russian airstrikes in the rear.

“Europe is on the verge of missing the moment when we will no longer have the situation under control, and it will tilt in favor of the Russians,” the Colonel believes.

He calls for strengthening the Ukrainian air defense, in particular, to minimize strikes on critical infrastructure objects. After all, if Ukraine’s power supply is seriously damaged again, the foundation of weapon production will also be shattered, Reisner noted.
