“Whatever we can get”: Trump stated that he wants compensation from Ukraine for the aid provided

U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that he wants compensation from Ukraine for the aid provided. He mentioned not only rare metals but also oil and “everything we can get.”

“The U.S. gave $350 billion to Ukraine because we had a dumb, incompetent administration and president. We gave Ukraine $350 billion. The U.S. is trying to recover the funds previously spent on aid to Ukraine, and it will achieve this,” the U.S. president said at the CPAC conservative conference in Maryland.

According to him, Europe provided Ukraine with money in the form of loans and can expect repayment.

“We gave money in the form of nothing. That’s why I want them to give us at least something for all the money we invested. And I will try to settle the war. And I will try to put an end to all these deaths. That’s why we are asking for rare metals, oil, and everything we can get,” Trump added.

At the same time, the Pentagon refuted Trump’s claim that $350 billion was allocated to Ukraine. According to their data, the U.S. Congress has allocated about $183 billion to Ukraine.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the U.S. provided around $100 billion in weapons and financial aid.
