06.03.2026 12:40While Ukraine is suffering from a shortage of equipment and troops, President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that Ukrainian air-defense specialists will be sent to the Middle East at the request of the United States.
According to Reuters, this could happen within the next few days.
“We received a request from the United States for specific support in defending against ‘Shaheds’ in the Middle East region. I instructed [officials] to provide the necessary means and ensure the presence of Ukrainian specialists who can deliver the required security. Ukraine helps partners who help our security and the protection of our people’s lives,” the president wrote yesterday on his Telegram channel.
The United States has not officially confirmed such requests.
Earlier, Zelensky also spoke about his readiness to provide Ukrainian interceptor drones in exchange for missiles for Patriot air-defense systems.
In addition, he said that Ukraine would send its best interceptor-drone operators to Middle Eastern countries if the leaders of those countries reach an agreement with Russia on introducing a one-month ceasefire on Ukrainian territory.
