Assisting draft dodgers for Gifts: workers of Military recruitment centers detained in Zaporizhia and Lviv
September 9, 2023‘They will act with violation’: mass checks of individuals and vehicles begin in Kyiv and the surrounding region
September 9, 2023Residents of Shostka in the Sumy region intend to declare a person without a hand viable for military service.
The story of Alexander Denisenko from the Sumy region was shared on social media.
Denisenko has a second-degree disability – he has been missing a hand since childhood (an anatomical defect). Additionally, the man has an anatomical eye injury that affects his vision quality.
He submitted all the necessary documents to the military enlistment office in response to a summons. However, they told him there that, in his words, “the certificates mean nothing.”
As a result, the Ukrainian man without a hand was sent to a military medical commission and was told that he would have “light duty” in the army.
The comments under the post are mostly angry. Ukrainians believe that the “TCC (military enlistment office) acted in a barbaric manner” and recommended that the draft boards “bring back their privileged sons from abroad” and send them to serve.
