Polish Foreign Ministry: “We never have had and never will have territorial claims against Ukraine”
28.07.2026 10:01Iraqi authorities have announced the detention of a group of individuals who allegedly “worked for Ukraine” and attacked state facilities in the country.
The statement was made by Iraq’s National Security Adviser Qasim al-Araji on the Dijlah TV channel, as reported by Al Jazeera.
According to al-Araji, Iraqi intelligence services established the fact of “Ukrainian interference” in the country. He stated directly that “Ukraine is violating Iraq’s sovereignty,” and that cells linked to it had carried out explosions on Iraqi territory.
“One of our intelligence groups engaged in analyzing intelligence data concluded that there is Ukrainian interference in Iraq. We have detained a number of groups that attacked several facilities on Iraqi territory. During the investigation, they confessed that they are working in the interests of Ukraine,” — al-Araji said.
The national security adviser also added that Ukrainian intelligence units are carrying out attacks in Iraq and attributing them to “resistance groups.”
Ukraine has not yet commented on these statements.
Earlier, the outlet reported that the United States is putting pressure on Iraqi authorities to persuade them to neutralize the numerous Iran-oriented Shia militias — the very “resistance groups” mentioned by al-Araji.
