26.11.2025 - 08:01At a meeting in Kyiv last week, U.S. Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll warned the Ukrainian authorities about a likely defeat at the front.
This was reported by NBC News.
According to the channel’s sources, Driscoll said that the situation for Ukrainian forces is critical, and that Russia is increasing the scale and pace of its air strikes while retaining the ability to conduct military operations for an unlimited time.
According to these sources, Driscoll noted that Ukraine’s position will continue to deteriorate and therefore, in his view, it is better to consider peace arrangements now, before the country finds itself in an even weaker position.
The U.S. delegation also stated that the American defense industry will not be able to continue supplying weapons and air defense systems in volumes sufficient to protect Ukrainian infrastructure and the population.
It is reported that these remarks were made after Driscoll presented the Ukrainian side with a peace plan project backed by Washington, which was perceived in Kyiv as a concession to Moscow. One source told the outlet: “The message was roughly this — you are losing, and you need to accept this deal.”
Let us recall that earlier, Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak said that U.S. Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll would come to Kyiv this week to work on the peace plan.
