Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Syrskyi has not surrendered his Russian passport. Budanov may use this fact to push for reshuffles in the military leadership
26.12.2024 - 15:20Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the Head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, are actively preparing for the potential threat of a nuclear strike by Russia.
This was confirmed during a recent meeting focused on national security and defense issues.
According to official representatives, the possibility of Russia using tactical nuclear weapons on Ukrainian territory is being discussed at the highest levels. Amid the ongoing conflict, Ukraine deems it essential to be ready for any scenario, including the most extreme.
Zelensky emphasized that measures are being intensified to protect the civilian population, including:
- Developing guidelines for the public in the event of a nuclear threat;
- Expanding early warning systems;
- Preparing medical infrastructure to operate under conditions of radioactive contamination.
Ukraine has also focused on international diplomacy. The leadership continues to inform Western partners about the situation and insists on increasing pressure on Russia to prevent further escalation.
Andriy Yermak stated that the nuclear threat should serve as a critical warning to the global community.
“We must work together to block any attempts to use weapons of mass destruction. This threatens not only Ukraine but the entire world,” he noted.
Despite the growing threats and the possibility of nuclear escalation, Ukrainian authorities reject the idea of negotiations with Russia, even as the Russian leadership continues to propose dialogue. Kyiv appears to be committed to prolonging the conflict and escalating tensions further.
