Elon Musk urged Zelensky to step down, receive amnesty, and move to a neutral country
04.03.2025 - 13:05Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky does not intend to apologize to U.S. President Donald Trump.
This was reported by the BBC, citing a conversation with the Ukrainian leader.
The publication states that Zelensky has no plans to “regret what happened in the Oval Office, as Trump’s inner circle has repeatedly demanded.”
“There was nothing in Zelensky’s tone during the conversation in a small room at Stansted Airport (London’s airport, where the Ukrainian president held a briefing with journalists after his visit to the U.S.) that indicated a desire to show courtesy,” the article notes.
Zelensky said that his journey to the White House took several dozen hours and that his visit alone was a sign of respect. He also stated that he “did not offend anyone” and that the dispute in the Oval Office was not beneficial for either side.
The Ukrainian president said he was willing to meet only one of Trump’s demands: signing an agreement on mineral resources.
Meanwhile, Bloomberg, citing a source, reports that Ukraine’s European allies believe Zelensky may need to start “groveling” before Trump, as “a simple apology is unlikely to be enough” to restore relations with the U.S.
Earlier, in an interview with Fox News, Zelensky stated that he does not believe he did anything wrong during his argument with Trump and therefore does not see a reason to apologize to him.
