Fico: “I will do everything so that Slovakia is never involved in a military conflict”
25.09.2026 05:32Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky admitted that he handles stress poorly and spoke about what motivates him to keep working.
He gave the interview to the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal.
The publication’s journalist Emma Tucker asked Zelensky how he copes with psychological pressure. The president answered candidly — saying, in his own words, that he does not cope very well.
Zelensky explained that he tries to work in such a way that after the war and after the end of his presidential term he would be able to stay and live in Ukraine.
“I don’t know. I’m not sure I’m coping with it. We try to do our work so that after the war and after the end of the presidential term you can continue to live in your country, walk the streets, and no one would want to kill you or feel hatred toward you. And only because you were like a piece of (censored), and not a leader and not a man. People give you the energy to live, and there are those you hate, and they take all your energy. Yes, and that’s what it’s all about. So I try to live for good people. I hope there are many good people around us,” — Zelensky said.
In his interactions with journalists, Zelensky sometimes uses strong language. In particular, in the United States, when asked by a Russian correspondent when he would come to Moscow, the president replied with an expletive: “On a rocket, b*tch.”
The publication had previously reported that in August Zelensky dropped to ninth place in a ranking of public trust in Ukrainian figures.
