“Zelensky faces a military coup if the Ukrainian Armed Forces withdraw from Donbas,” said a Polish military expert
25.12.2025 - 17:03Ukraine’s current president, Volodymyr Zelensky, has topped the “anti-rating” of potential candidates for head of state.
These figures come from a poll conducted by the Socis Center for Social and Marketing Research.
According to the study, 22.2% of Ukrainian citizens say they would refuse to vote for Zelensky if he decides to run for a second term. At the same time, 21.6% of respondents are ready to vote for him—this is the highest figure in the (support) ranking.
Former President Petro Poroshenko took second place in the anti-rating with 21.8%. He is followed by Yurii Boyko, the founder of the party “Opposition Platform — For Life,” which is banned in Ukraine, and Yuliia Tymoshenko, leader of the “Batkivshchyna” party.
The most popular candidates after the incumbent president are former Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and ambassador to London Valerii Zaluzhnyi, and Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence (HUR).
Earlier, Zelensky released a Christmas address in which he called Russians “godless” because of strikes on Ukraine and said they have nothing in common with Christianity or “anything human.” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov described the Ukrainian leader’s remarks as uncultured and embittered.
