Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is considering the possibility of holding presidential elections in the country in 2025.

In 2023, all parties in the Verkhovna Rada agreed to postpone the elections until the end of the conflict in Ukraine. However, Zelensky is considering the possibility of holding presidential elections in 2025 to consolidate his power.

One of the potential opponents is former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny. According to the publication, the country wants to see new leaders in the government.

Earlier, Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko reported on preparations for the electoral process in 2025. According to the parliamentarian, President Zelensky’s office informed regional representatives of the ruling party “Servant of the People” about the start of preparations for this process.
