Zelensky: “Iranians and North Koreans have already attacked us”
27.07.2026 11:03The main task of the new army leadership will be to strengthen mobilization.
Vladimir Zelensky stated this in an interview with Sky News.
According to the president, Ukraine could face an additional 500,000 Russian troops as early as October. Russia, meanwhile, denies plans to carry out mobilization.
“The main challenge is mobilization. We need a new approach, new steps. Perhaps not very fast or radical ones, but to find a way to do this, I need unity between the Ministry of Defense and the military command,” — Zelensky said.
The president cited the same reason for the dismissals of Fedorov and Syrsky. According to him, there had been problems with dialogue between the minister and the commander-in-chief for several months.
Zelensky named strengthening air defense as the second key task for the new leadership, noting that Ukraine lacks anti-missile systems.
“I don’t have time to first listen to one side and then the other. These two sides must meet not every day, but every hour, until our sky is protected. I should not have to figure out who is right and who is not,” — Zelensky said.
The president first carried out Fedorov’s resignation, and only dismissed Syrsky when the “cardboard Maidan” began.
