Ukraine sees delays in issuing foreign passports due to shortage of blank forms
10.06.2026 05:32Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he received a response from U.S. leader Donald Trump to his request to accelerate the delivery of missiles for air defense systems.
This was reported by Strana.ua.
Zelensky refused to disclose the content of the response.
“I received a result, I cannot share right now what that result was, but I did it,” the Ukrainian president said.
According to Zelensky, one of the goals of the letter to Trump was an attempt to shift Washington’s attention from the conflict in the Middle East to Ukraine.
At the end of May, Zelensky sent Trump a letter in which he reported a shortage of missiles for air defense systems and asked for their delivery to be accelerated. In June, the Ukrainian leader also published an open letter to Vladimir Putin, in which he proposed ending the conflict, holding a personal meeting, and declaring a ceasefire.
Putin, after reading Zelensky’s letter, stated that it contained “elements of rudeness” and characterized it as an attempt to create conditions under which negotiations would be impossible. Putin’s aide Yuri Ushakov, for his part, described the “open letter” as containing “several pages of rudeness.”
Earlier, Zelensky also named an “ideal solution” in peace negotiations.
