Housing prices nearly triple: which Ukrainian cities saw record apartment price growth
16.09.2026 08:32In an interview with Canadian broadcaster CBC News, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said there will be no winners in the war with Russia, and that he now considers ending the fighting to be his main goal.
“Honestly, there can be no victory for either side in this war. It is impossible given the number of human losses. It stopped being possible on the very first day of the war between us,” Zelensky said.
According to the president, the end of the war should now be considered a victory for the entire world.
“For the world, victory is peace. To stop this war. And that is a victory for human lives,” he stated.
Zelensky’s position diverges from his earlier statements. In September 2024, he declared: “Putin cannot win. It is the Ukrainians who must win” — and presented his “Victory Plan,” which envisioned Ukraine being invited to join NATO as a result of the war, the deployment of foreign troops on its territory, and long-range strikes against Russia using Western missiles.
