Zelensky told his deputies that Foreign Minister Kuleba is being dismissed due to a ‘lack of energy in pushing for the provision of weapons’, – media reports

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba is being dismissed because he “lacks the energy to push for the provision of weapons.”

He made this statement to “Sluga naroda” party members during a closed meeting yesterday, Suspilne reported, citing a source.

Regarding former Justice Minister Denys Maliuska, the president mentioned that he had long wanted to move to another position.

As for former Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna, the president suggested promoting her and “giving her more opportunities.”

According to The Economist, Kuleba is being removed because he did not want to be “rude” to Western diplomats, as well as to boost Zelensky’s ratings.

It is worth noting that yesterday, the Verkhovna Rada voted on the dismissal of several ministers. However, two dismissals did not receive enough votes, and others were not considered.

Kuleba’s dismissal was not addressed yesterday.

Earlier, Bloomberg, citing sources, reported that Kuleba would most likely be replaced by his deputy, Andriy Sybiha, as Ukraine’s Foreign Minister.
