21.11.2025 - 11:32At a meeting with his faction, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a statement regarding the corruption scandal. He assured them that he “had no idea what was being done behind his back.”
This was reported by Suspilne, citing MPs who were present at the meeting yesterday.
According to MP Mykyta Poturayev, when lawmakers from Servant of the People called for Andriy Yermak to be dismissed, the president replied that “the President’s Office is his personnel domain” and that he has the right to make any decisions. At the same time, he stressed that he would facilitate investigations into everyone involved in corruption schemes.
“Volodymyr Zelensky said that he had no idea what was happening behind his back, about what Mr. Mindich and others had built,” Poturayev said.
Another MP, speaking anonymously, told the outlet that at the meeting the president advised deputies to discuss candidates to fill the vacant government posts that had opened up because of the corruption scandal. However, he immediately suggested the post of justice minister to Denys Maslov, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Legal Policy.
“The president said: we have this MP Maslov. Would he like to take this post? Maslov stood up and said that if it was the president’s order, then he would become minister,” the MP recounted.
Recall that Herman Halushchenko was dismissed from the post of minister of justice because he appeared on the “Mindich tapes.”
