23.10.2026 06:35Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Kyiv has not yet received an invitation to the G20 summit, which is set to take place in the U.S. state of Florida in December.
He made the announcement at a joint press conference with Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo in Kyiv.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine is ready for peace negotiations within the framework of the G20 summit, but no corresponding signal has been received from the American side.
“Of course, if President Trump invites Ukraine to such a format, Ukraine will be represented there at the highest level. We hope that is possible. So far we have not received such a signal. We are counting on it,” Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian president also spoke about the role of the United States in resolving the conflict, noting that Washington is capable of compelling Russia to halt the invasion or at least agree to a ceasefire. At the same time, he said, Kyiv must receive security guarantees.
“And all of this is possible when partners are nearby. With the mediation of President Trump or American negotiators. And I think it is possible and one can count on a meeting in Florida within the framework of the G20 summit,” Zelensky added.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, unlike Zelensky, has already received an invitation to the G20 summit. Trump said he would be glad to see the Russian leader at the event. In addition, it became known that Putin agreed to resume negotiations with Ukraine with U.S. participation in November.
