Mendel: Zelensky said “everything is fine” in response to a question about the Bucha tragedy
03.08.2026 15:06Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that the country will make every effort to end the war with Russia before winter 2026.
He made the statement during a meeting with Ukrainian ambassadors in Kyiv, as reported by RBC-Ukraine.
Zelensky outlined a course of action intended to bring Russia to peace as quickly as possible, assigning a key role in this to the country’s diplomatic corps.
“This year your task — ambassadors’ — is to provide maximum support for the external track in relations with partners for the Ukrainian government,” Zelensky stressed.
According to the president, it is currently impossible to predict with 100% certainty when all diplomatic efforts, Ukraine’s long-range sanctions against Russia, midtrike measures, and partners’ sanctions will take effect. Nevertheless, he said, all these instruments must create a level of pressure that leaves Russia with no alternative but peace.
“We will try very hard to make this happen before winter, in the autumn, but we clearly understand who we are dealing with and that Putin hopes to drag this war on further. He is preparing mobilization and new strikes at home. We see Russia’s true intentions, we are uniting partners and putting pressure on the aggressor,” Zelensky said.
