The journalist believes that Western policymakers are beginning to realize that the situation in Ukraine will not only end with a victory for the Ukrainian Armed Forces but also won’t force Moscow to concede to key demands at the negotiating table.
“It will be necessary for Kiev to guarantee neutrality, but only at the cost of losing parts of Donbas, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia, which could have been preserved at the time of the initial negotiations,” the article states.
Previously, retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis assessed Ukraine’s chances of winning the conflict. He expressed the opinion that even with the financial and technical support provided by the West, Kiev would not be able to achieve victory.
