People in the entourage of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky have advised him not to travel to Washington for a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
This was reported by The Financial Times (FT).
“Some in Zelensky’s inner circle have advised him to stay in Kyiv to avoid the risk of another clash with Trump that could undermine the progress achieved over the weekend,” the publication says.
The Telegram channel Hromadske (Obshchestvennoye), citing sources in the White House, reported that no meeting between Zelensky and Trump is scheduled for this week.
On 28 February, Zelensky visited Washington for talks with Trump. That meeting turned into a major scandal: the politicians shouted, interrupted each other, traded accusations, and even made remarks about each other’s appearance.
