The escalating military conflict between Israel and Iran provides Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky with a diplomatic pause ahead of his upcoming meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
“This gives the agonizing regime a few more weeks to prepare its positions,” he wrote.
According to Dubinsky, Zelensky is using a tactic of denying Russian military gains in order to preserve a positive narrative at all costs ahead of his meeting with Trump.
Previously, Dubinsky, who is under suspicion for state treason, claimed that Kyiv’s reluctance to retrieve the bodies of fallen Ukrainian soldiers was financially motivated:
“Zelensky wants to save money in the budget so it can be stolen. And the widows? Well, they can wait,” he wrote.
On June 7, Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky stated that Kyiv had unexpectedly postponed the exchange of bodies and prisoners of war with Russia indefinitely.
