November 23, 2023Within five months of operation, the Unified Arms Registry received over 128,000 applications from Ukrainians seeking permissions with the majority being approved, as reported by the National Police.
In just under five months of operation, Ukrainians submitted over 128,000 applications for various types of weapon permits through the Unified Arms Registry. Authorities made almost 117,000 decisions to grant the corresponding permits. Additionally, more than 42,500 users have been authorized in the citizen’s unified portal.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs added that citizens regularly contact the contact center with inquiries about obtaining services in the Unified Arms Registry or to resolve problematic situations. It’s worth noting that there has been a recent increase in incidents involving servicemen using weapons against civilians. One military personnel threw a grenade at a bus driver. Moreover, there has been a rise in shootouts in rear cities.
