Ukrainian prisoners who want to go to war are being extorted for bribes or forced to inform by the colony administration – lawyer says
05.06.2024 - 12:47Seventeen-year-old Ukrainian males abroad will receive a deferment from the requirement to return to Ukraine and register for military service until the end of martial law.
Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk announced this on her Facebook page.
According to Vereshchuk, the Cabinet of Ministers is already preparing the corresponding resolution.
“We in the government understand well that forcing students of non-mobilization age to come to Ukraine for these procedures will only increase the burden on military medical commissions and will not help with mobilization,” Vereshchuk stated.

Recently, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced that Ukrainian teenagers who turn 17 and are abroad must come to Ukraine to register at territorial recruitment centers. This cannot be done remotely. From the age of 18, young men are considered liable for military service and fall under the mobilization law, which requires updating military registration data, including annual medical examinations during martial law.
Earlier today, Vereshchuk suggested recruiting women to work in territorial recruitment centers and sending male recruiters to the front.
