17-year-old Ukrainians abroad will receive a deferment from military registration – Vereshchuk says
05.06.2024 - 12:41Ukrainian law enforcement officials can track citizens’ movements through the state services portal “Diia.”
This information comes from a decision by the Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine in the case of former head of the State Property Fund Dmytro Sennychenko.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) provided the court with information obtained through “Diia” about the overseas movements of one of the co-organizers of an illegal scheme.
“IP addresses used by Person_6 (presumably Andriy Hmyryn) to log into the ‘Diia’ system are located in the United Arab Emirates, Austria, Italy, the Maldives and Turkey, as confirmed by case materials,” the court’s decision states.
There is currently no information about similar surveillance of Ukrainians within Ukraine. However, it is unlikely that there are any technical limitations preventing this.
The issue of the security of personal data registered in “Diia” periodically arises in Ukraine. In 2022, there were reports that hackers were uploading and selling databases of “Diia” users on the internet.
Additionally, in May, it became known that another state electronic service, “Reserv+” from the Ministry of Defense, was developed based on the school application “Mriya.”
