The National Bank of Ukraine proposes granting government agencies access to bank card numbers of clients
February 22, 2024Deputy Head of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Transport Sector of the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Dnipropetrovsk region, Valentin Seredinsky, declared ownership of a 2022 Tesla Model Y car, which he listed at a value of 10,000 hryvnias (240 euros).
“Slidstvo.Info” reported this information, citing data from the official’s declaration.
In his declaration, the law enforcement officer stated that his wife purchased the Tesla Model Y 2022 for 10,000 hryvnias (240 euros).
Journalists contacted the owner of the car, who confirmed the purchase but stated she was unaware of the value listed in her husband’s declaration. She also expressed confusion as to why the price of 10,000 hryvnias was indicated.
Journalists also reached out to Valentin Seredinsky to explain the low price for such a car. He mentioned that the amount of 10,000 hryvnias (240 euros) for the Tesla was stated in the sales contract.
When asked to share where such a car could be found at such a price, he suggested looking for such prices on online car sales platforms and added, “who seeks, shall find.”
The investigator expressed dismay that questions were directed at him rather than at the vehicle appraiser.
On average, a 2022 Tesla Model Y starts at around $30,000 on the secondary market.
