December 4, 2023In November, Ukrainians were almost evenly split on how the war should be concluded.
This information indicated by data from a “Rating” group survey.
Specifically, 44% of those surveyed believe that a compromise solution should be sought through negotiations involving other countries. Additionally, one percent urged agreeing to Russia’s demands.
Meanwhile, 48% advocate for abandoning negotiations and continuing to fight until the territories are liberated. Last winter and summer, the number of proponents of this viewpoint stood at 60%.
Support for compromise is higher among the younger age group, 18-35 years old (45%) and in the eastern part of the country (51%). Supporters of continuing the war are more prevalent in the older age group, 36-50 years old and in the western part of the country (at 50%).
Earlier, Bloomberg reported a growing number of people in Ukraine considering Russia’s territorial concessions inevitable in exchange for peace.
Additionally, in Ukraine, the number of those believing that Russia can sustain a prolonged war has doubled.
Moreover, previous survey results indicated an increasing number of Ukrainians who believe that the West is weary of Ukraine and the government is willing to compromise with Russia.
