22.04.2026 - 10:41More than two-thirds of Ukrainian citizens — 71% — regularly consume content in Russian.
This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy and Minister of Culture Tetiana Berezhna during the presentation of the results of a study on Ukrainians’ media consumption conducted by the company Gradus at the request of the Ministry of Culture.
“We conducted a study together with Gradus. And when we analyzed Ukrainian content consumption, we found that in the fifth year of the full-scale war, 71% of Ukrainians regularly consume Russian-language content. And nearly a quarter of them do so every day,” Berezhna said.
Respondents admitted that they do this not because of ideological beliefs or particular views, but simply out of habit and because Russian content is easily available and abundant.
Berezhna proposed reversing this trend by creating “all the conditions necessary for the production of a high-quality Ukrainian alternative, so that Ukrainian-language content and cultural products become plentiful in different spheres.”
Earlier, writer Larysa Nitsoi lamented that Lviv is no longer a Ukrainian-speaking city and that Russian is being heard more and more often on its streets.
