The UK Defence Minister believes that the world has entered a pre-war period
04.04.2024 - 08:44China believes that there should be no winners or losers in the “Ukrainian crisis.”
This was stated by the spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang Wenbin, during a briefing, commenting on the phone call between Chinese leader Xi Jinping and US President Joe Biden.
Noting that China’s position on the “Ukrainian crisis” is consistent, clear, and transparent, Wang Wenbin highlighted the risk of further escalation of the crisis. He emphasized the need to make efforts for de-escalation and conflict resolution through negotiations rather than war.
According to him, China did not create the conflict, is not involved in it, and has never provided weapons or military equipment to any of the warring parties.
“We did not seek and will not seek to benefit from the conflict, and other countries should not discredit or attack the normal relations between China and Russia, nor undermine China’s legitimate rights and those of Chinese companies,” stated the spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Recall that on April 2, Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Joe Biden held a phone call, during which, among other things, they discussed the war in Ukraine. Western media reported that Biden “wanted to emphasize to Xi Jinping that China should not continue to help Russia rebuild its military-industrial base.”
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told his Ukrainian counterpart, Dmytro Kuleba, during a meeting at the Munich Security Conference, that China does not sell weapons to any of the warring parties.
