10.04.2024 - 12:02Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has described as “primitive” the peace plan proposed by former White House chief Donald Trump, if it involves Ukraine relinquishing its territories in exchange for peace.
Zelensky made this statement in an interview with the German publication Bild.
“If the idea is simply for us to give up our territories, and if that’s the idea, then the idea is very primitive. I think if Trump really has his own approach to a quick end to the war, then I would be very glad to hear this idea. But we need solid arguments. We need not a fantastic idea, but a real one. We are talking about human lives, we cannot joke and cannot take risks,” Zelensky said.
The President added that his team has invited Trump to Ukraine and he is personally ready to meet with him. Trump, the predecessor of Joe Biden, responded that he wants to come, but he doesn’t know when he will have the opportunity.
It’s worth reminding that according to The Washington Post, Trump, in the event of his victory in the elections, intends to persuade Ukraine to make territorial concessions. Trump’s team dismissed this assertion as fake and stated that the politician would not have a specific plan until he is elected president.
It is also worth recalling that, according to the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Ukraine should abandon part of its territories for the war to end.
