09.05.2024 - 14:06The High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine has ordered the arrest of the Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy of Ukraine, Markiyan Dmytrasevych, with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 20 million hryvnias (approximately 472,716 euros).
The official is suspected of misappropriating 2,500 hectares of land in the Sumy region and attempting to seize another 3,300 hectares.
The Minister of Agriculture, Mykola Solskyi, is also involved in the same case but continues to perform his duties.
Recall that on April 23, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine handed over a suspicion notice to Solskyi. According to the investigation, from 2017 to 2021, Solskyi, even before taking office in the Cabinet, illegally seized state land in the Sumy region worth 291 million hryvnias (approximately 6,878,018 euros) and attempted to seize land worth another 190 million hryvnias (approximately 4,490,802 euros).
On April 26, the court ordered the detention of Mykola Solskyi with an alternative bail of 75 million hryvnias (approximately 1,772,685 euros). However, on the very first day after the court’s decision to detain him, the required bail amount was paid.
Prior to this, Solskyi had submitted his resignation as Minister of Agricultural Policy, but the “Servant of the People” faction failed to approve his resignation.
