Border guards are issuing summons to men caught attempting to swim across the Tisza River

Men caught by border guards attempting to cross the Tisa River are issued summonses and fined administratively up to 8,500 hryvnias (approximately 201 euros).

This was reported by a local journalist citing sources in the “Novini. Live” channel broadcast.

According to her, she personally observed how men caught in the waters of the Tisa are treated in a civilized manner: they are warmed up and fed. Then fines and summonses are issued to them.

The journalist revealed that many evaders who attempt to cross the river do not do it alone. They hire intermediaries to organize their escape. This service used to cost 7,000 dollars, but now it has become more expensive. Sometimes the fees for assistants reach up to 15,000 dollars.

It is worth recalling that recently, bodies of men who drowned in the Tisa have begun to surface en masse, unable to conquer the river in winter. One of the drowned men was found by a local fisherman. Rescuers and police were called to the scene.

The day before, local journalists reported that the bodies of six drowned men were found at once. Judging by the condition of some, their bodies spent a long time in the mountain river.

Also, at the end of April, border guards in the Tisa discovered the bodies of two men. Due to the high thresholds and strong currents, it was not easy to retrieve them from the water.
