12.05.2024 - 11:40“A peaceful life,” which some Ukrainians have been living, “is coming to an end” following the enactment of a new mobilization law.
This was stated by a representative of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Dmitry Lazutkin.
“Speaking globally, starting from May 18, when the mobilization law comes into force, the approach to this war changes first and foremost. Because the situation where some people fight and are constantly on the front line, while others live their peaceful lives, obviously, this is coming to an end,” he said.
Lazutkin added that “the entire country needs to mobilize” because the enemy is strong.
“The striking difference that was evident every time you returned from the Donbas to Kyiv or Lviv, or other peaceful cities, is not normal. Perhaps it would have been normal if we had a weak enemy, but in this case, the whole country needs to mobilize,” Lazutkin believes.
