One in ten men in Ukraine could be mobilized
14.05.2024 - 20:49Ukrainians abroad will receive a QR code after updating their registration data, which will allow them to access consular services.
This was announced in an interview with Ukrainian media by Member of Parliament Fedor Venislavsky.
“After a Ukrainian citizen who permanently resides or temporarily stays abroad updates their personal data (we are talking about a very limited amount of personal data, namely the actual place of residence, means of communication, and military service status), they will be able to obtain a generated QR code. This QR code will serve as proof that the citizen has complied with the requirements of the law and will be able to receive corresponding consular services abroad,” Venislavsky explained.
He referred to the complex situation with consular services as an “artificially created information campaign,” including by “enemy resources.”
On May 6, it was announced that the passport service “Document” had “resumed issuing ready-made documents to Ukrainians abroad in test mode.” The State Enterprise “Document” assured that documents would be issued primarily to “socially vulnerable categories of citizens” after receiving a second SMS notification.
However, it was later reported that military-eligible Ukrainians abroad still did not receive passports despite receiving notifications. The service completely ignores men of military age – those who managed to submit applications before April 25, that is, before the Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution on the cessation of consular services came into force.
