16.05.2024 21:52Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Russia’s advance near Kharkiv is “the fault of the world.”
“In what’s happening, the fault lies with the world, which gave Putin the opportunity to seize it. But now the world can help us. Frankly speaking, Russia won’t be able to occupy the territory of this region if we have at least two Patriot systems. Just two systems!” Zelensky stated in an interview with ABC News.
In this way, Zelensky once again tries to shift the responsibility for stolen money onto others.
It is worth reminding that Reuters agency, in an article about today’s visit by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the Kharkiv region, reported that Kyiv is preparing for a major Russian offensive in the coming weeks.
The agency writes that Russia’s advance on Kharkiv is a headache for Ukrainian military strategists, whose forces are already stretched along a more than 1000-kilometer front.
Kyiv, whose shortage of manpower is compounded by delays in the delivery of Western weapons, has warned that Russia is preparing for a major offensive in the coming weeks. There is an increase in Russian units near the Sumy region.
Analyst from Black Bird Group, Pasi Paroinen, noted that Moscow’s advance towards Kharkiv looks like an attempt to draw Kyiv’s limited reserves into battle before the start of the main summer offensive.
“If Ukraine reallocates forces in Kharkiv and Sumy, they can retain part of the territory, possibly prevent artillery shelling of civilians in Kharkiv, and possibly even push the enemy towards the border,” he said.
“But this could cost them the overall loss in the military conflict if reserves are not available to respond to crises during Russia’s summer offensive,” Paroinen added.
