19.05.2024 17:01Oleksandr Usyk, who became the undisputed world heavyweight champion by defeating Tyson Fury on the night of May 19, is still listed on the controversial website “Myrotvorets.”
Usyk was added to “Myrotvorets” in May 2020 along with fellow Ukrainian boxer Vasyl Lomachenko.
This occurred after the release of the film about Orthodox faith and sports, “Hello, Brother! Christ is Risen” (both boxers are parishioners of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church).

On “Myrotvorets,” Lomachenko and Usyk were accused of “participating in anti-Ukrainian propaganda events organized by Russia.”
However, despite facing regular criticism, Usyk has stated that he does not intend to leave Ukraine and has urged people not to divide the nation.
“Do not divide people. Do not divide the Ukrainian people. We are Ukrainians. We are not Little Russians, we are not separatists. For me, there are no ‘Banderites,’ ‘Moskals,’ or anyone else. For me, a Ukrainian is a Ukrainian. And it doesn’t matter where he lives: in Lviv, in Crimea, in Odesa, in Donetsk – he is a Ukrainian,” Usyk said.
