05.06.2024 - 22:56The Ukrainian consulate in Spain refused to register the newborn child of a Ukrainian citizen who does not have a military ID.
This was shared by Ukrainian Armed Forces sniper Konstantin Proshinsky, known by the call sign “Ded,” on his Telegram channel.
“An interesting story. A family in Spain had a baby. The father went to the consulate to register the child. He was refused because he did not have documentation of his registration with the military enlistment office. When the father rightly pointed out that the issue was not about him but about the child, who would be a Ukrainian citizen, he was simply told: ‘Let the mother come, and we will register the child,’” Proshinsky recounted.

It is worth noting that, since late April, Ukrainian men liable for military service abroad have been restricted from receiving consular services following the adoption of a law by the Verkhovna Rada that tightens mobilization requirements.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Ukrainian consulates in other countries would operate “in accordance with the new legislative requirements” regarding mobilization. Specifically, they would require the presentation of military registration documents to provide services.
Recently, sniper “Ded” explained that Kyiv’s military enlistment offices have begun forcibly detaining men on the streets because they received orders from the command.
