By mid-winter, electricity in Ukraine will be turned on for 2 hours a day – Financial Times

In January 2025, Ukrainians might only have electricity for two to four hours a day if the government does not take any action.

This was reported by the Financial Times, citing sources within the Ukrainian government.

According to the publication, before winter arrives, the population will spend most of the day without power.

“We must prepare to live in cold and darkness,” one source said.

“This is our new normal,” added another official, pointing to dark houses outside the window in Kyiv.

Meanwhile, “Ukrenergo” warns that tomorrow the power outage schedules will be in effect throughout the day again.
