‘This is not our war’: Hungarian Prime Minister Orban commented on his visit to the capital of Ukraine

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán commented on his visit to Kyiv.

“When someone comes to Ukraine, it’s easy to predict what will happen. Everyone applauds, saying that we are Ukraine, we are with you, this is our war, and so on. But you know, the Hungarian position is different. We don’t think this is our war. And Hungary’s interest is not in continuing the war but in peace. And I try to represent Europe’s interests fairly and objectively, which is different from what they usually did before,” Orbán said.

Previously, the Hungarian politician discussed his proposal to Zelensky to cease fire to start negotiations with Russia. In his opinion, this would expedite the peace process.

In response, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva commented on Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s proposal to Volodymyr Zelensky to stop the fighting and begin peace negotiations. Deputy Head Yermak did not directly state that the Hungarian Prime Minister’s proposal was unacceptable.
