The Association of Cities accused the Ministry of Education of Ukraine of violating the Constitution due to an order regarding the operation of schools in frontline regions
04.07.2024 - 13:32There are 11.1 million men in Ukraine aged 25 to 59, but the exact number of those eligible for military service is unknown.
This was reported by Dmytro Natalukha, head of the Committee on Economic Development and a member of parliament.
Approximately 1.5 million of these men may have disabilities. Some are already serving, some are abroad and nearly 600,000 have been deferred. Officially, 2.6 million conscription-age men are employed. The state knows nothing about nearly one million conscription-age men except for their identification codes.
“Systematic updating of data is literally happening before our eyes. No one knows the final number at this moment. Of course, the military knows more than we do, including the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense, that’s obvious. But it’s not like this number is recorded somewhere you can just go and look at,” said Natalukha.
Previously, he mentioned that at least 200 conscription-age men attempt to leave Ukraine daily.
Additionally, Roman Kostenko, secretary of the Defense Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stated that if mobilization continues at the current pace, 200,000 people will be mobilized by the end of the year.
