04.07.2024 - 10:02At least 200 conscription-age men attempt to leave Ukraine daily.
This statistic was provided by Dmytro Natalukha, head of the Committee on Economic Development and a member of parliament, as an argument for the necessity of introducing “economic reservation.”
“The absence of this tool affects the market. Every day, at least 200 conscription-age men attempt to leave the country. Every single day. Not to mention the number of resignations from jobs to work unofficially and avoid appearing in registries. This demoralizes the real sector of the economy and has negative consequences,” said Natalukha.
The Ministry of Education reported that 9 out of 10 applicants for postgraduate studies in 2024 are conscription-age men. In total, more than 100,000 applications were submitted, of which 91,500 were men aged 25-60 who already have a master’s degree.
It is important to note that this year, it has been made impossible to enroll in full-time contract-based postgraduate programs, which grant deferment rights.
Previously, it was reported that the Verkhovna Rada considers it possible to mobilize 200,000 Ukrainians by the end of the year.
