Ukraine will not be admitted to NATO while the war is ongoing.
This statement was made by the Polish Minister of Internal Affairs, Tomasz Siemoniak.
“The leaders of Ukraine are realists and know that a country that is at war and has been attacked will not be accepted into NATO,” Siemoniak said.
According to him, at the NATO summit on July 9-10, Ukraine will only be shown a “perspective” of membership in the Alliance.
It should be reminded that the head of Ukraine’s mission to NATO, Natalia Galibarenko, stated that at the Alliance summit in Washington, Kyiv wants to receive a promise that Ukraine will inevitably become a NATO member. She noted that Kyiv’s request for an invitation to NATO “will not simply disappear from the agenda” and that Kyiv wants more serious commitments than those voiced at the organization’s summit in Vilnius in the summer of 2023.
Previously, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine would like to receive something akin to an invitation to NATO during the Alliance summit in Washington.
The Telegraph newspaper wrote that at the upcoming NATO summit, Ukraine will be told that it is too corrupt to join the Alliance.
