Ukraine will not be admitted to NATO while the war with Russia is ongoing – Polish Minister of Internal Affairs
05.07.2024 - 09:06In the village of Vorokhta, Ivano-Frankivsk region, near the popular tourist destination Mount Hoverla, local residents blocked the road and obstructed the work of the territorial recruitment center.
A video from the scene was published by the TV channel TSN.
The outraged locals claimed that due to the military recruitment raids, visitors had stopped coming to their village, causing the tourist-dependent settlement to lose income and decline.
The footage shows a traffic jam more than a hundred meters long caused by the blockade. A white minibus, camouflaged with green paint and apparently belonging to the territorial recruitment center, and two police cars can be seen in a “pocket” next to the highway. The roadside area was filled with several dozen civilian vehicles, with a crowd of about 50 people gathered in the center. Men and women of various ages were visible along the entire section of the blocked road.
In one of the videos, angry locals are seen hitting a recruitment center vehicle and pushing it off the road.
Following media reports, the operational command “West” stated that the recruitment center’s checkpoint in Vorokhta had been removed, but recruitment officers would continue to check the documents of those arriving. The report also mentioned that local residents attacked a representative of the recruitment center and damaged their vehicle.
Additionally, the command expressed confusion over what the locals were protesting against, suggesting that “the local residents are acting against their own state and protecting those evading recruitment.”

Earlier, a video emerged from the Chernivtsi region, where residents of a border village also blocked a road due to a new checkpoint staffed by the territorial recruitment center. The gathered residents demanded the checkpoint be dismantled and blocked traffic in protest, asking for explanations on who the recruitment officers were targeting.
