07.07.2024 - 16:24In Russia, the brother of Mykhailo Podolyak, advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Podolyak, has died.
This was reported by the English-language Czech public platform KIU, which tracks information about deceased Russian military and security personnel through obituaries, memorial plaques, and photographs of graves.

According to KIU, Podolyak Sr. passed away on May 19. The platform published a photo of his grave, showing a man in military uniform with numerous awards, including a service badge from the GRU, the Russian military intelligence.
KIU claims that the 59-year-old retired intelligence colonel was not killed in the war in Ukraine, contrary to reports from some Ukrainian Telegram channels.
Previously, media had written that Mykhailo Podolyak’s brother served in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. Mykhailo Podolyak had confirmed in winter that he has an older brother living in Russia, but he stated that they do not communicate. He also denied that his brother served in the KGB and FSB, but did not clarify regarding the GRU.
Earlier reports indicated that the parents and brother of Oleksandr Syrsky, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a native of the Vladimir region, live in Vladimir. His father is a retired colonel of the Russian army.
