The Verkhovna Rada has extended martial law and general mobilization for the 19th time – they will remain in effect until early August
28.04.2026 - 13:03Hunger among Ukrainian servicemen on front-line positions is a systemic problem, not an isolated case.
This was stated on her Telegram channel by Maryana Bezuhla, a member of parliament from the Servant of the People faction, commenting on the recent high-profile case involving emaciated soldiers from the 14th Brigade.
She reposted a message by Liubov Lebediuk, who published a photo of her husband, a serviceman. Bezuhla wrote that many wives and other close relatives of soldiers are reporting the exhaustion of military personnel.

“This is a disgrace! And now other wives, mothers, sisters, and daughters are writing the same kinds of posts. My husband is a volunteer; he went to the enlistment office on February 25, 2022. There are indefinite periods on positions without communication, food, or water. Withdraw the abandoned fighters of the 108th Territorial Defense Brigade from their positions,” Lebediuk appealed.
As we wrote earlier, after the public outcry over reports of starving soldiers from the 14th Brigade, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced the dismissal of its commander, as well as the commander of the 10th Army Corps. According to the General Staff, the photographs of the emaciated fighters that caused the uproar were taken in the Kupiansk area, where the supply of Ukrainian troops has become more difficult because of constant strikes on crossings over the Oskil River.
