07.07.2024 - 21:09Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has announced upcoming peace initiatives regarding Ukraine for next week.
Szijjártó posted on Facebook about the first week of Hungary’s presidency in the EU, stating that the next six months will be a “mission of peace.”
“Sunday marks the end of the first week of Hungary’s presidency in the union and a government meeting at the same time. Now everyone can be sure that the next six months will be a mission of peace, aiming to finally ensure peace in our region. The mission of peace continues and is even becoming stronger, so I ask European politicians who support the war to fasten their seatbelts and stay tuned for updates next week,” stated the Hungarian Foreign Minister.
Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced a “surprise” for Monday, July 8. He mentioned that it would be a trip, but did not disclose the location.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s administration has allowed for the possibility of peace proposals being passed to Russia through intermediaries but clarified that Orbán is not one of those intermediaries.
