19.07.2024 - 16:55Currently, only one in ten individuals in Ukraine who previously had the status of “limited fitness” are deemed unfit for service.
This was reported by Roman Horbach, the head of the Main Personnel Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is worth noting that the status of “limited fitness” was removed from the law: within nine months, all these individuals must undergo a medical commission, which will determine whether they are unfit, fit, or fit only for military service in specific locations, such as rear units, logistics units, or territorial recruitment centers.
“For understanding, of all those previously deemed ‘limited fitness,’ only a very small portion—less than 10%—are currently recognized as unfit during service, and the remaining personnel are split approximately 50-50 between those who are fully fit and those who are fit for specific military units,” Horbach stated.
Previously, MP Fedir Venislavskyi promised that the parliament would address the issue of conscripting individuals under 25 years old.
