14.08.2024 08:01Ukraine is heading towards a frozen conflict rather than a victory.
This statement was made by Taras Chmut, the head of the “Come Back Alive” foundation.
“We are not currently moving toward victory. I hope we are not heading for defeat, but certainly not toward victory… It seems we are moving toward freezing the front,” he said.
According to Chmut, the government has failed in its information policy, which in turn has led to a failure in mobilization efforts.
“We are running out of people. It creates the impression that many in the country believe people are a renewable resource,” Chmut added.
Previously, a street survey was conducted among Ukrainians, asking if they would agree to freezing the war with Russia along the current front lines. Many of those surveyed responded positively.
Additionally, former Russian Deputy Prime Minister and now opposition figure Alfred Koch, who has been living in Germany and was recently arrested in absentia in Russia, condemned Russia’s invasion and has supported Ukraine throughout the war. He urged Ukrainian authorities to stop the war “at any cost,” warning that otherwise, the country might “perish.”
