Half of the required winter volume: Ukraine has lost nine gigawatts of production energy capacity

Ukraine has lost nine gigawatts of its production energy capacity, which amounts to half of what is needed for the winter.

This was reported by Financial Times, citing a statement by EU Energy Commissioner Kadri Simson.

According to her, to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe in Ukraine, Western countries must help Kyiv repair damaged facilities, provide small decentralized generators, deploy photovoltaic systems on the roofs of hospitals and schools, and gradually increase electricity exports to Ukraine.
