This was stated by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine.
Dmytruk was driven by car from Kyiv to the Razdelnyansky district of the Odesa region. There, he switched to another car and by 9 PM reached the border, which he crossed on foot in the area of the “Pavlovka” checkpoint.
The suspects involved in the crossing had previously come under the scrutiny of law enforcement. According to the investigation, the organizer “has a wide range of connections both among law enforcement and criminal circles.” He and a second figure crossed into Transnistria the day after Dmytruk. The third suspect has been detained.
Earlier, Ukrainian media reported that Artem Dmytruk had illegally crossed the border into Moldova, from where he then flew to Rome, and from there either to London or Istanbul.
It should be noted that Dmytruk himself has not disclosed his current location. However, he stated that in one European country, there was an attempt to kidnap his wife and children. He associates the criminal prosecution with his position on defending the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Dmytruk was charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer and a military officer. According to the investigation, the suspect, along with a group of individuals, attacked a law enforcement officer in Odesa, inflicted bodily injuries, and attempted to take his weapon.
After this incident, it became known that the parliamentarian had left the country even before the charges were announced.
In Ukraine, Dmytruk has been placed on an international wanted list and has been remanded in custody in absentia.
