Ukrainian military forces are mentally preparing to defend the Dnipro – Bild reported

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are already “morally preparing for the defense of the Dnipro.”

This was written on the social network X by military expert Julian Röpcke from the German tabloid Bild.

In his assessment, the situation on the eastern front is “critical and continues to worsen,” with Russia making advances faster than in the summer of 2022.

“Ukrainian soldiers I speak with can hardly comprehend the unfolding catastrophe. Territories are sometimes lost so quickly that it feels as if a retreat order has been given. They also consider the completed and planned rotations dangerous for holding the front,” Röpcke wrote.

He noted that, in addition to the Donetsk region, for the first time in nearly two years, Russian troops are advancing again in Luhansk and eastern Kharkiv.

Among the reasons for this situation, Röpcke cites the overstretching of Ukrainian forces due to the offensive near Kursk. According to Röpcke, the “moral boost” from this operation among Ukrainian forces in Donbas is no longer being felt.
